With a history spanning approximately 5,000 years, the Gala area preserves residential and architectural examples from different historical periods.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Visitors can explore ancient houses, mosques, bathhouses, mausoleums, rock carvings and other historical structures throughout the reserve. One of its most notable landmarks is the medieval Gala Castle.<\/p>\n<p>The Archaeology and Ethnography Museum, located in the open-air reserve, displays a variety of objects reflecting Azerbaijan\u2019s ancient and traditional way of life.
