Visitors can explore the central temple, the surrounding cells and the former living quarters used by pilgrims.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibitions within the complex provide an opportunity to learn more about the history of the temple, the communities that worshipped here and the ancient fire traditions of the Absheron Peninsula. Its architecture allows visitors to experience the atmosphere of both a religious site and a historic caravanserai.<\/p>\n<p>Although Ateshgah was once famous for its natural gas flames, the original fire eventually went out as the underground gas reserves decreased.
