Museum of Modern Art

The Museum of Modern Art, opened in March 2009, is one of the city’s key cultural spaces dedicated to contemporary creativity. Established with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the museum stands out for its bold, avant-garde architecture and thoughtfully designed interior.

The building features modern lighting and ventilation systems, creating an ideal environment for viewing art. Its collection includes more than 800 works, with a strong focus on Azerbaijani avant-garde artists, alongside pieces by well-known national painters and sculptors. Visitors can also explore a Western European Art Hall, where works by international masters are displayed.

In addition to its permanent collection, the museum has gained international recognition, including hosting an exhibition in Paris in 2011. Today, it offers visitors a dynamic and inspiring look into both local and global modern art.
