Heydar Aliyev Center
Opened in 2012 in the heart of Baku, the Heydar Aliyev Center has become one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
The building was designed by world-famous architect Zaha Hadid, the first woman to receive the Pritzker Prize. Its flowing, curved design − completely free of straight lines − symbolizes continuity, infinity, and the connection between past and future. In 2014, the London Design Museum recognized it as one of the best-designed buildings in the world.
The complex spans nearly 16 hectares, with over 102,000 square meters of interior space. It houses a congress center, exhibition halls, a 450-seat concert hall, conference rooms, a media center, a cinema, and educational spaces, making it ideal for cultural, educational, and public events.
A central feature is the three-story Heydar Aliyev Museum, dedicated to the life and legacy of the former president. In addition to its permanent exhibitions, the center hosts temporary art exhibitions, international forums, concerts, and other cultural programs.
Today, the Heydar Aliyev Center stands as a major hub for art, learning, and innovation − a striking symbol of modern Baku.
